K12 learning 2.0:  Tools for 21st Century Teaching & Learning

THING “ZERO” (Session One)

Isn’t technology fun or NOT !!!  I, personally, have always enjoyed the various challenges that come with discovering new things and “how to do” new things that is associated with the internet.  There are many, however, feel challenged by the smallest aspects of this new world.  In completing this section of the course, the one thought that came to mind is that we will need to use multiple tools in order to effectively communicate with others.  Wouldn’t it be nice to have one program that does everything?  Most users never get past email and are deprived of the wonderful “nuggets of knowledge” that can make our life so much more efficient.

Thing Zero is an illustration or example of how we can bring together 3 different tools in order to communicate more effectively.  Forums are great areas to share with others discussions about a variety of important subjects.  Email enables us to discuss things more privately.  Blog Sites enable individuals to share their thoughts in a web page format that otherwise would not know how to put a web site together.  By utilizing these tools, we stretch our minds to think of more ways in which we can communicate with others.
