Task:  Create An Online Slide Show . . .

I decided to do a short slideshow video on computers.  The above video was created on Rock You!  Rock You! was an interesting site.  Uploading the files were easy.  Selecting the different elements was fairly straightforward.  I had difficulty adding text to my slides.  It was like they were on a slippery rock and the mouse was pushing them everywhere.  I, finally, very carefully got the text on them but still not sure why that was happening.  There was a large background music selection.

The next two videos below were created on Bubbleshare.  I found it much easier to edit the text and rearrange the slides using Bubbleshare.  I love the variety of themes and sliding shows available.  It uses speech balloons for text.  I like this but would not want to put speech balloons on every slideshow that is created.  When the slideshow is finished, there are several format options to view it.  I have selected 2 of these views below.

The third slideshow site, Slide.com, was very similar in features to Rock You.  As a matter of fact, the format and many of the selections appeared to be identical.  So, constructing a slideshow on this site would be very similar to one created on Rock You.  Here is the example from Slide.com.

My experiences with these sites were very positive.  I have never made a slideshow like this before and I can see some benefits in the classroom.  Students could make slideshows for different class projects.  Teachers could make introduction shows or review shows of instructional material for student viewing.

Another great tool in a comic format is pikistrips.  Here is an example of my above story in this format.

PhotoPeach – very basic, simple and straightforward without all of the flashy effects.

PictoBrowser – build a photo slideshow using Flickr.
